I am just thinking about this. Foe someone to be a landlord in Nigeria, it really requires a lot of capital just to build one house. If someone then spends like N10m in building a storey building just to rent out to tenants, how long will it really take to make back that money? Is it really better to build a house and become a landlord or keep the money and just pay rent with it as a tenant?

Are landlords really making nay money from their homes if they rent it? Are tenants who equally have that same capital but prefer to remain tenants any better?

I think it takes about 10 years for landlords to make back the capital they invested in their homes. A building built with 10M naira is more likely going to be rented out at N1,000,000 per year in a city like Lagos.
