I recently went to a car spare parts in Lagos to look for parts. I was told that the tokunbo(used) ones were more expensive than the new ones but I don't know the reason why. Is the new one not meant to be more expensive than the second hand ones?

according to statistics most of d new parts are substandard while tokumbo ones are from cars that are dismantled either it was involved in accident or otherwise, d parts are from cars that comes from d original producers hence some dealers call them follow come in spare parts market.
