I noticed that each time I go to buy PINs for my prepaid meter, I end up getting billed about N750 per month by the PHCN. This is like a fixed charge one has to pay whether or not there was power supply for that month. I though that the Prepaid billing system has to do with paying for only what we use and not for what we did not also use.

If you check it, you'd see that PHCN makes billions of money monthly even from dorman PHCN prepaid meters. So, even if you travel abroad and come back after 6 months, about 6*750 will be deducted from the next money you want to use to buy meter tokens. Is this not fraud?

This fixed charge of N750 for customer on R2 category, some customers pay higher, is for maintenance fee. It is statutory. We have to maintain their equipment for them. You see, it is absolutely ,cheating, fraud, injustice and executive theft. This people still go ahead to give you very crazy bill monthly for power not consumed using estimated billing, whereas your meter is in good order.

I think, we contribute to their excesses by folding our hands as if everything is normal anytime they supply us abnormal bill. Let challenge them legally until they do the right thing.
Let say enough is enough of this fleecing on us. No power, no bill.
